The 2016 Black Metallic with the Nike Air on the heel is literally the definitive AJ5. PK batch pair has that correct nubuck sheen, not too matte not too shiny. Wore em to a Texas Tech game at the Jones and then to a Depot District bar crawl, walked 6 miles total and the polyurethane midsole was comfortable the whole stretch. The clear lace lock has the Jumpman embossed clean, no smudging. The 3M tongue reflection is dangerously bright, almost got pulled over walking home lol. $109 to the 806 in 10 days, Lubbock sneakerheads y'all need to tap in fr.

Ngl the Black Metallic 5 is the most underrated OG Jordan colorway and I'm tired of pretending it's not. All-black nubuck with the silver shark teeth and icy sole is giving stealth fighter jet. Wore these to a UNR tailgate and then to a show at Midtown, the blue outsole glows under blacklight which was an unexpected bonus. The ankle padding on these is actually plush, way more comfortable than AJ4s for all-day wear. 11 days to the 775 with Reno altitude, shipping held steady. The Biggest Little City just got a little more fashionable.

Black Metallic 5s are the only Jordan where the shark teeth actually improve the fit instead of just being decoration. The metallic midsole plate gives the shoe structure, not just looks. Walked from Drake University through the East Village to the Iowa State Capitol and back, that's a solid 4 mile round trip, and the Air unit in the heel is actually responsive. The 3M tongue pops so hard in flash photography, took a group photo at a Des Moines kickback and my feet stole the whole picture. $109 to the 515, 10 days. Every sneakerhead at Drake needs to know about this shop.

The 2016 Black Metallic 5 with the Nike Air heel is the only version that matters, the 2020 Jumpman heel is not the same energy. PK batch got the nubuck texture exactly right, it's soft but not that ashy suede you see on budget reps. Rocked these at the BayFest afterparty on Dauphin Street and the blue-tinted outsole caught the neon signs like jewelry. South Alabama campus by day, Downtown Mobile by night, these handle both. The lace lock is properly molded too, not that flimsy plastic that snaps. $109 to the 251, this is my 4th pair from StockxShoesVIP and they're batting a thousand.
