Being in Portland Maine you need shoes that survive cobblestone, salt air, and random nor'easter drizzle. The Runner Blacks have conquered all three. Walked from USM to the Old Port for a lobster roll and the distressed sole didn't pick up a single seafood smell somehow. The all-black upper has this matte finish that doesn't show salt residue like glossy sneakers do. The mesh ventilation is perfect for when it suddenly hits 70 degrees after a week of rain, classic New England. $149 to the 207 in 11 days, these are my new everything sneaker.
