These Black Metallic 5s hit harder in person than in any photo I saw. The 3M reflective tongue is the detail that sells the whole shoe. I kept the outfit simple with black sweats because the sneakers do enough on their own.

I wanted a clean monochrome sneaker and these Prada Black Gray pair fit the bill. The technical fabric side panels break up the glossy leather nicely. Fit was true to size for me, and the gray sole adds just enough contrast.

The Jordan 4 Black Cat shape looks best with baggy denim and a relaxed hoodie. The all-black nubuck is easy to match but shows dust quickly. The lace eyelets feel a bit stiff, so I would loosen them before the first full wear.

The patent leather gloss on these AJ11 Gamma Blues is the detail that pushes them past a regular retro. The black and Gamma Blue color blocking goes with almost anything dark. I wore them to class with grey sweats and the contrast worked perfectly.

Pkgod Vans OTW Old Skool 36 Pearlized Pack Pink Black

Threw these on with light denim and a grey hoodie and the pink-black contrast did the heavy lifting. The pearlized coating makes them look more expensive than the price tag suggests. Only thing is the tongue slid to the side during a longer walk, but re-lacing through the tongue loop fixed it.

The all-black layered upper looks clean with cargos, and the LED sole is fun after dark. The shoe felt firm and bulky during the first wear. It is more of a style pair than an all-day walking shoe. Four stars for the weight.
